Why the Bridal Morning Is One of the Most Powerful Female Spaces
If you’ve ever been part of a bridal morning, you’ll know the energy is something really special.
As a bridal makeup artist, I spend most weekends in a room full of women getting ready for one of the biggest days of someone’s life. And after working with so many brides over the years, it’s made me realise that the bridal morning is actually one of the most powerful female spaces.
It’s not just about hair and makeup.
It’s the mum helping button the dress.
The bridesmaids bringing the energy when the nerves start to kick in.
Friends fixing jewellery, adjusting veils, and making sure the bride has a glass of prosecco in hand.
There’s something really lovely about the way women show up for each other on a wedding morning.
One thing I hear from brides all the time when they sit in my chair is “I don’t normally wear much makeup” or “I just want to still look like myself.”
And that moment when they look in the mirror and realise they still look like them, just a little more polished, a little more confident, is honestly one of my favourite parts of the job.
But what people don’t always see online is everything else happening in the room.
The conversations.
The laughter.
The little emotional moments between mums and daughters.
The excitement building as the morning goes on.
It’s a room full of women supporting someone they love.
And every weekend I feel incredibly lucky that my job allows me to be part of those moments.
The bridal morning isn’t just about getting ready for a wedding.
It’s about confidence, connection, and women hyping each other up before one of the biggest moments of their lives.
So today, on International Women’s Day, it felt like the perfect time to talk about that.
Because the bridal mornings I’m part of every week remind me just how powerful women supporting women really is.
And it’s something I’ll never take for granted being part of.
